Monaghan Institute is the third largest further education and training (FET) college in Ireland, and whether you’re interested in green energy, performing arts, hairdressing, or nursing, it has the course for you! If you’re the type of person who prefers a mix of theory and practical learning, Monaghan Institute has a range of courses with the job market firmly in focus. Or if you have your sights set on studying at a university or Institute of Technology, through the Higher Education Links Scheme many Monaghan Institute students progress to higher education as a result of their qualifications earned at the Institute.
Cavan Institute is set in the heart of Cavan Town and, as well as offering a diverse range of courses – from Tourism with Business to Software Development, the institute also has a vibrant clubs scene with Gaelic football, soccer, camogie and hurling clubs. The Institute also offers the opportunity to apply to work abroad (usually for a two-week period) which is arranged with employers in the host country with support from Cavan Institute partners.
Looking for a career in the great outdoors? Then Tanagh Outdoor Education and Training Centre is right up your street! Tanagh offers an alternative to classroom-based learning with amazing courses in subjects like raft building and electronic orienteering.
Nestled amongst rolling hills, meandering rivers, and enchanting forests, the centre also offers a range of accredited outdoor first aid courses such as Remote Emergency Care (REC) and First Aid and Automated External Defibrillators (AED) which enables the responder to become a lifeline in extreme circumstances.
