Formally known as ‘The Kings County’, in ancient Ireland, Offaly is reunited once more alongside Laois, once known as the ‘Queens County’. The two are more recently a match made in educational heaven as together they make up Laois & Offaly Education & Training Board (LOETB).
Spanning over 15 schools and colleges LOETB caters for learners of all stages and backgrounds. Post Leaving Cert Courses, apprenticeships, and part-time courses are all on offer across the two counties.
From courses in eBusiness with Digital Marketing and Community Care to fully accredited traineeships and apprenticeships in a range of subjects like Metal Fabrications and Construction Plant Fitting Laois & Offaly ETB offers an abundance of choice.
There’s more course being added by the month as LOETB recently announced three new courses for Birr FET Centre! In Abbeyleix FET Centre ‘Bog Sculpture’ was on the curriculum for the art department this year for their Abbeyleix Bog Project as part of the students work experience. Check out the photography below to see their beautiful creation.
If the outdoors life is your calling, why not check out what is on offer at Birr Outdoor Education and Training Centre? The centre offers numerous courses in outdoor subjects such as raft building, survivor skills, coasteering, and even project maths.
Further information on Laois & Offaly ETB can be found on their website, and by following the ETB on Facebook and Twitter.
