European Vocational Skills Week 2019
Over 1,090 events will take place across 45 countries to celebrate European Vocational Skills Week 2019 from 14th - 18th October 2019 and Ireland will be well represented. The celebrations aim to raise awareness about the field of vocational education and the opportunities the vocational education offers in helping people to attain skills for a sustainable career.
Vocational education and training offer learners access vibrant, hands-on professions. European Vocational Skills Week 2019 showcases the courses on offer and the career prospects with employers around the country.
There are plenty of exciting events taking place across Ireland, such as at Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa in Cork where the college will be opening their doors for an Art & Design Vocational Skills Day involving a whole host of workshops including 3D modelling and laser cutting.
Minister for State Training and Skills, John Halligan will be enrolling in college, if only for a day, as he relives his student days and attends classes at Waterford College of Further Education.
In Dublin, AONTAS, The National Adult Learning Organisation will be hosting a ‘Learning at Work Seminar’ which will bring together community and adult education providers, adult learners, employers and policy makers to explore the benefits and challenges of learning at work.
